Bird Of Ill Omen - When Love Would've Shown Interest In Us Both
Bird Of Ill Omen were from Miami, FL. I really like this record, and it's a local classic. Awesome metalcore outfit, before everyone just tried to sound like At The Gates. One of the first Eulogy releases, and also one of the best. If you're from South Florida and don't own this, shame on you.

Pyha - The Haunted House
Okay, so supposedly this is the story behind Pyha. Pyha is a 12 year old korean kid that recorded this album in his basement. Pyha is also incredibly terrifying bleak Burzum meets the embodiment of evil black metal. Listen to it for yourself. It's ambient black metal in the vein of Spektre and the aformentioned Burzum. It's really good, but I'm a little wary of that story. We are living in post Velvet Cacoon times and it seems like black metal kids will say anything to sound extreme. I kind of hope it's true though, haha. Check it out.

Slowdive - Slowdive
Slowdive was one of the big shoegaze bands from the U.K. This is their first EP. Slow, moody pop with tons of distorted guitars and haunting melodies. For fans of My Bloody Valentine and the like.

Nas - Illmatic
What can I say about this album that everyone hasn"t already said? It's my favorite hip-hop record of all time. It's in my top ten, ever. It's probably the only debut album to ever get 5 mics in Source Magazine. It's an undeniable classic with production from Pete Rock, Q-Tip, DJ Premier...it's Nasir Olu Dara Jones at his absolute best. I can't even name a favorite song off of this. Maybe N.Y. State of Mind? Maybe The World Is Yours? I don't even know and don't make me give you a straight answer. I listen to this record at least weekly, and my last.fm can probably attest to this. Download this if you don't have it, and don't tell people you didn't own it before. While Pac and Biggie were out in the limelight, Nas dropped the best New York hip-hop record fucking ever.

Denali - The Instinct
Denali is an indie rock band that was on Jade Tree. Mellow indie rock, the kind to just hang out in your room to. I really like the vocals. Check it out.

Siege - Drop Dead
Arguably one of the pioneers of grindcore, and a huge influence on powerviolence, Siege was a force to be reckoned with. Boston's fastest hardcore band at the time. Pissed off, fast, and a no care attitude. Classic stuff.

Pete Rock And C.L. Smooth - All Souled Out
Pete Rock And C.L. Smooth are an influential hip-hop duo hailing from Mount Vernon, NY. Pete Rock to this day still is a force of a producer. This is their first E.P. Classic New York hip-hop. Straight 16 bars and a chorus done right.

The Axis Of Perdition - Deleted Scenes From The Transition Hospital
The Axis Of Perdition is kind of hard to classify. Silent Hill inspired doomish ambient industrial black metal evil? Hahaha. If that long run sentence sounds right up your alley, you'll love this. It's perfect halloween music, and creepy as all hell.

Rune - The End Of Nothing
RUne was awesome. The bass player went on to form Mouth Of The Architect. Gloomy post-metal one second, fast as all hell grind the next. This was released by Willowtip, and that's saying enough.
